The Art of Telling Stories (or Connecting)
Laura came to the art of oral storytelling with decades of experience as a writer. What she loves about storytelling is the immediacy of sharing the story with an audience. The career she built from 2016-2020 took a turn with the pandemic, and through the online support of Artists Standing Strong Together (ASST), she became skilled at telling stories over Zoom. ASST broadened Laura’s community in the storytelling world and remains an essential part of her work even as in-person storytelling has returned.
Laura has taught creative writing since 2003, and is an experienced workshop presenter. Follow the links below for more about Laura’s storytelling, teaching, or to book Laura for a private event.

“Laura is down to earth, full of grace and caring and humor. As the keynote speaker at the Spellbinders Annual Meeting, she shared her journey to becoming a storyteller, and was very open, offering suggestions, sharing experiences. She told several stories and the audience was captivated. I’ve known her for a few years but hadn’t seen her in awhile. I loved seeing who she is now, knowing her as part of the Spellbinders community, and is finding success on the festival and conference circuit. It’s a lovely transition.”
